Legal Sector Group – Next Meeting: TBA
Challenging market and economic conditions demand action that differentiate your performance and results from the norm. Experience proves that insight and learning from others’ success and challenges can deliver that differentiation. To support you in your quest to be top performers, Towards Maturity has set up the Industry Sector Benchmark Groups.
Attendance supports business impact improvement, faster, prioritised decision making on strategic and tactical activities and includes an invaluable opportunity to network and learn from sector specific colleagues who have addressed challenges in a similar environment.
In each of the wider discussions, we will consider practical hints and tips on how to get started and how to overcome common challenges. Participants will have plenty of opportunity to draw on the collective wisdom of the group and the TM team will also be able to provide practical insights from the top learning companies from beyond the sector who have participated in the Towards Maturity Benchmark Study. A follow up paper will also be available to all Group Benchmark participants from the meetings that capture the practical insights and lessons learned from the event.
Working in today’s legal firm is becoming ever more challenging. Legal professionals are expected to add value, respond quickly to client demand and understand a wider range of legal issues than ever before. Now is the time to offer support, guidance and best practice solutions to legal L&D departments to help them respond to the increased pressures on their firms and their people.
From experience with legal firms, there are common challenges L&D professionals are facing in the sector. The sector benchmarking group will allow the exchange of ideas, build relationships, form collaborative solutions and raise standards within this industry. That’s why, in conjunction with leading legal professionals, the legal sector industry group – “How to deliver 21st century learning to 21st century legal firms” has been launched.
The event has been designed in conjunction with leading professionals from the legal sector to help participants identify collaborative solutions for common challenges they face. The forum will focus on 3 main topics, with each topic discussion kicking off with insights from learning professionals from the sector. Example topics discussed include:
- Aligning Learning and Talent in 21st Century Law Firms
- Capturing and sharing knowledge within the firm
- Supporting the global workforce
The event will be facilitated by Laura Overton, Managing Director of Towards Maturity. A follow up paper will also be available to all participants from the day that captures the practical insights and lessons learned from the event.
Laura Overton says:
“Over the last 10 years, a number of legal firms have used the Towards Maturity Benchmark to formally compare their learning practices with their peers. This benchmark forum provides an informal environment for participants to share practical hints and tips to help each other get started and overcome common challenges. Attendees will be able to draw on insights from the good practice uncovered by the formal benchmark process and the collective wisdom of the group.”
