A Warm Welcome to Our Latest Ambassador, Sponge UK

by | Oct 17, 2014 | Articles, Press Release

Towards Maturity welcomes leading e-learning company, Sponge UK, into the thought-leadership Ambassador Programme, which supports Towards Maturity’s annual Benchmark Study aimed at helping businesses change and grow through learning innovation.

The Ambassador Programme is a unique collaboration that enables the Ambassadors to work together with Towards Maturity for change, identifying and improving good practice, raising awareness and driving the whole industry forward.
The study would not be possible without the support of Towards Maturity Ambassadors who share a passion for ensuring that independent advice is freely available to all participants.
Now in its 11th year, the Towards Maturity Benchmark surveys and studies how people learn at work and uses the data to help Learning and Development professionals assess and improve their learning provision. It has been refined through the participation of more than 3,500 organisations and 15,000 learners and industry thought leaders from around the globe.
Sponge UK Managing Director, Louise Pasterfield, said:
“We are proud to become a Towards Maturity Ambassador. Encouraging learning innovation which supercharges the workplace, promoting excellence and sharing good practice are among the values we share with Towards Maturity. We hope to make a contribution to the important work of the organisation by supporting its respected Benchmark Study.”
Laura Overton, Managing Director of Towards Maturity, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Sponge into the Ambassador Programme. As an organisation they demonstrate integrity, accountability and a commitment to excellence – something that is critical as we gather independent evidence to support L&D effectiveness. Our Ambassadors are industry leaders who work together to support change. This is a really exciting time for the L&D industry as we seek to modernise learning and we are delighted to have Sponge on board.”
The new 2014 Towards Maturity Benchmark Study is being unveiled at 12 noon (GMT) on Thursday, November 6 at a launch webinar in conjunction with Learning Technologies.

We all have blind spots, why does being aware of yours add value?

When it comes to organisational culture, performance and learning, blind spots (or as they are often referred to ‘not seeing the light’) are usually found at the root of most of our problems with work today. These problems shape our day to day conversations, thinking, mood, judgement, decisions-making, or fundamental lack of them. These issues can make or break your workplace experience.

La Vie en Rose, does seeing ‘life in pink’ matter?

Learning can be defined in many ways, but most psychologists would agree that it is a relatively permanent change in behaviour that results from experience. The three major types of learning described by behavioural psychology are; classical conditioning, operant conditioning and observational learning. In order for learning to stick and becomes the new normal, all three types require self-driven will. Therefore, how people view the world through their lens matters.
